Morning Prayer
Monday-Thursday, 9 AM, Christ the King Chapel
We gather in our beautiful Chapel, Monday through Thursday at 9:00 AM, to begin our day together in prayer. We do so according to the Daily Office from the Book of Common Prayer (most of the time - Fr. Ryan likes to mix it up occasionally).
Morning Prayer takes about 20 minutes and includes scripture, traditional prayers, lessons about the saint whose feast day it is, occasionally a brief commentary on the lessons, and time to hold up our own intercessions and thanksgivings. Morning Prayer is one part of a four-fold structure of daily prayer called the Daily Office. It is a particular treasure of our Anglican heritage. If you'd like to learn more about its history or even how to pray it on your own at home, click the button below that says "The Daily Office Tutorial." |
