Greeters
Before the pandemic, individual parishioners or couples volunteered to greet people at the door one week per month. They did this at the service they usually attended. Joe Master created a beautiful welcome table with informational materials, name tags, and a visitors' sign-in sheet, but without someone there to ask visitors to fill out the visitors' forms, they often go unused.
The main expectations of greeters include:
- arrive 15 minutes before the service begins
- wear your nametag and, if you have one, a St. Thomas' embroidered blue polo shirt
- greet members while you watch for visitors and guests
- offer visitors and guests a nametag
- encourage them to fill out the visitors' form
- if you are unable to greet, please find someone to do it for you
Please prayerfully consider volunteering once a month to sit at the table (until the service begins) and also catch people during coffee hour or as they leave, we will be able to contact newcomers and welcome them back by name.
