Early Milestones in the Faith
Holy Baptism is a full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's Body the Church. When a person is baptized, the entire congregation renews their baptismal vows and promises to support the candidate. Any baptized person of any denomination may take communion.
In our Communion Basics class, we learn the meaning of the eucharist and enter more deeply into the faith. After three classes, there are special prayers in a Sunday 10:00 service to celebrate this sacred occasion. This class is appropriate for ages 7-10.

At Confirmation, the Bishop lays his hands on the candidate's head and says, "Strengthen, O Lord, your servant with your Holy Spirit; empower him for your service; and sustain him all the days of his life. Amen." Parishioners twelve years and older may ask to be confirmed. This is not required, but is an excellent next step, a way to participate more fully in the life of the church as an adult.
