Mary Jane Park - Class of 2024 - Senior Warden
Mary Jane spent most of her growing-up years in North Carolina, where she earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Appalachian State University and was received into the Episcopal Church at St. Luke's Salisbury. A member of St. Thomas' since 1988, she has been active in numerous parish ministries and has served previous terms on the vestry. Most recently, she chaired the committee that brought the Icons in Transformation exhibition to the church in 2019 and 2020 and was in the congregation's inaugural Sacred Ground cohort. She is a eucharistic minister, leads the lector corps, and co-chairs the arts ministry.
A long-time journalist at the Salisbury (NC) Post, the Greensboro (NC) Daily News (now the News & Record), and the St. Petersburg Times/Tampa Bay Times, Mary Jane was founding editor of Bay magazine. After retiring from the Times, she was the first executive director of St. Petersburg's Warehouse Arts District Association. She volunteers in several arts and civic organizations.
