Kayla Mitchell - Class of 2025

Born in St. Petersburg and raised Catholic, Kayla joined the Episcopal Church in 2010 to bring her faith more closely in line with her values. As she continued her spiritual journey, she became an active member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Orlando before relocating to Rhode Island. Upon her return to St. Petersburg in 2017, Kayla – together with her husband, Jonathan, and daughter, Blythe – became members of St. Thomas' after accepting the embrace of the welcoming and supportive church family. Their son, Whitaker, was baptized at St. Thomas in 2020, further deepening her connection to the parish. Recently, Kayla and Jonathan co-founded "God Help Me: A Parents Group," which offers a low-pressure forum for fellow parishioners navigating the challenges of parenthood.
 
Professionally, Kayla holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from the University of Florida. After leveraging her expertise to support a regional theatre and a small publishing company, Kayla began working with CVS Health in 2015 and continues to work remotely for the health-care company, specializing in email channel health.
 
Beyond her professional pursuits, Kayla is a self-proclaimed foodie who enjoys travel, yoga and spending time with her family.
