St. Thomas' Art Project was
excited to showcase the work of the Black Art Matters Tampa Collective, a dynamic group of talented artists who are breaking barriers, challenging norms, and redefining the art world with their unique perspectives and creative vision. BAM Tampa is comprised of passionate and skilled artists who hail from various backgrounds and disciplines, including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more. They are united by their shared experiences and commitment to using art as a means of storytelling, empowerment and social change.

Icons in Transformation, December 2019 - February 2020
Picture
The Icons in Transformation exhibit featured paintings created by Ludmila Pawlowska over a decade. She began creating the "icons" after the sudden death of her mother. She found comfort recalling the icons she had seen in Russia monasteries and worked through her grief through her own artwork.

Dee Perconti's Stations of the Cross
March 2023
Local artist Dee Perconti taught us how to do collage art, and as a parish, we created fourteen stations of the cross in that style. This year, Dee returns with a unified vision for the Stations of her own.

Community Collage Project:
Stations of the Cross
February 2022
The Stations of the Cross is an ancient fourteen step devotional pilgrimage through the last days of Jesus' life. Using skills learned from local collage artist Dee Perconti, our community worked in groups to create collage interpretations of each of the fourteen stations. It was a wonderful experience!
