
The Rev. David B. L. Gould
David grew up in the Episcopal Church and spent most of his early life in Colorado . He did his undergraduate studies at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania where he majored in Political Science (minor in Religion). He received an MA in Biblical and Near Eastern Studies at the Iliff School of Theology (at the University of Denver). He then embarked on a career in independent school education, focusing on Episcopal schools. He served as teacher of religion and Chair of the Department of Religion and Theology at Saint Andrew's School (Boca Raton, Florida), Upper School Director at Columbus School for Girls (Columbus, Ohio), Assistant Head of School and Head of School at Bethany School (Cincinnati, Ohio), and finally as Chaplain at Canterbury School of Florida (St. Petersburg, Florida).
David is married to Beth Gentry Gould, who serves as Executive Assistant to the Canon to the Ordinary for the Diocese of Southwest Florida. David and Beth have five children and three grandchildren. They are also proud owners of three dogs and a cat.
David loves reading, walking, and music, and dreams of actually playing the guitar competently. He and Beth also love to travel. They have attended St. Thomas' since 2021.
