St. Thomas is committed to our local, national and global communities through the ministry of our Outreach program.

Through the effort of parishioners, the St. Thomas' family gives generously of its time, talent and resources.  St. Thomas actively supports community programs such as St. Bartholomew's Food Pantry and Thrift StoreResurrection House, the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, Ready for Life, Beacon House, Happy Workers, YMCAAngel Tree, Lawyers for Literacy and Meals on Wheels.  One Sunday each month, the parish gathers after our morning services to make 1200 sandwiches that are provided to the hungry, through numerous community agencies like the Salvation Army and Ronald McDonald House.

Parishoners extend loving hands to the world-wide community through Support our Troops, Village of Hope in HaitiAfrican Team Ministries, New Hope Clinic in San Francisco de Orica, Honduras and the Diocese of Peshawar in Pakistan.

Every year St. Thomas' youth participate in mission trips in the local area, as well as in other states, to extend a helping hand to those in need and to gain insight into the problems facing our country.

A few thoughts and words about my Meals on Wheels experience - the Gestalt

...The experience of delivering MOW is rewarding to me personally, I do a small thing that does not take a lot of time and preparation. The vast majority of the people we serve are very grateful and thankful that they are receiving a meal. Last week in Luke’s Gospel, the focus was on being a good neighbor.  Meals on Wheels depends on volunteer neighbors to deliver the food.  I see many neighbors every week at the Sunshine Center...
