Become a Member

As a beloved child of God, you are as welcome to be at St. Thomas as anyone, and you will feel that welcome from your very first visit.  At St. Thomas we welcome all people and affirm our baptismal covenant, in which we promise to "seek and serve Christ in all persons," and to "respect the dignity of every human being."

Once you have visited St. Thomas and decided you would like to become a member, the process is simple.  If you are already an Episcopalian, but your letter of membership is with another Episcopal parish, all you need do is contact our office to let us know of your desire to join.  We will then contact your former parish to transfer your membership.

If you are, or once were, a member of another denomination in which you were already baptized, we simply record the date of baptism and you become a “baptized member.”  Should you wish to become a confirmed member, there is a user-friendly course offered once or twice a year, or you may choose a self-study program at anytime.  When the Bishop visits (again, once or twice a year) he prays and lays hands on you, making you are a member of the Episcopal Church.

If you have never been baptized, we will happily baptize you, or your children of any age - the only requirement is your desire to do so.

Although Baptism and Confirmation are important decisions, the entire process can be fun and joyful.  We’ll be with you every step of the way!
