As Christians we are at our best when we are gathered in community. This is true for both worship and in social groups. To foster this spirit of community, St. Thomas holds a number of events weekly and throughout the year.
Wednesday evening Supper, Song and Prayer is not your traditional “Pot Lock,” but a community meal in which anyone who wish can prepare a dish to share, and those who just want an evening of fellowship can join on a moment’s notice. In addition to plentiful food, we also offer a short worship service with weekly guest speakers, while our youth group (Grades 6-12) meets in the youth room, and our younger members (Pre-K through Grade 5) enjoy Godly Play.
Throughout the year we also have several special events like Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday, a Parish Picnic, Oktoberfest, a Festive Meal and a Seder Meal, when we gather for fun and fellowship. These events also go hand in hand with outreach. This year, nearly 200 guests packed the Parish Hall for the Mardi Gras festivities and to participate in a Silent Auction that centered on sponsoring two mission trips to Haiti.
